St. Mary's Health System in Lewiston ME (Southeast Maine), is actively seeking a per diem BC/BE Emergency Medicine APP.
The Emergency Department has recently been updated with advanced equipment and has 22 exam rooms. We see about 30,000 patients a year and are staffed with Emergency Medicine-trained Physicians 40 hours per day with 12-16 hours of APP coverage. We have shifts from 8 to 12 hours. 1.6 patients per hour on average. Our admission rate is around 10-12%. We are a hospital employed group. Epic EMR.
We enjoy a small and close-knit hospital community with Sub-specialties including Surgery, Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Neurology, Oncology, Orthopedics, Interventional Radiology and Psychiatry. We have a dedicated behavioral/mental health emergency department staffed with dedicated psychiatric nurse practitioners, nurses and staff. St. Marys has inpatient child/adolescence psychiatric services as well as adult psychiatric and chemical dependency services.
Centrally located, the twin cities of Lewiston-Auburn are Maine's second largest metropolitan area; just 40 minutes north of Portland and under an hour from the ocean or mountains. 2.5 hrs to Boston.
